Those NB’s recently released a video highlighting the New Balance New York City Experience Store and an interview with assistant manager Anthony Hernandez. As an employee of Boston Experience Store I love seeing what it’s like at our sister store in New York.
WOW! This collaboration from United Arrows and New Balance is gorgeous! The 1500 is a very popular collaboration choice, but this piece stands out for the simplicity, style, and originality of it’s all beige upper. With a release approaching sometime in April this year, I’ll be working hard to get my hands on these. More images after the jump.
Another gem coming from the New Balance Flimby factory in England. This 576 joins the ranks of other classics such as the “cutting room floor pack,” “pub pack,” and “farmer’s market.” I’m particularly partial to the royal blue colorway, with “the fighter” tongue-tag very on-point. Other images after the jump, try premium New Balance stores like the experience store in Boston for pairs.
This new colorway of the popular 999 model of New Balance is clean. If you’re looking for a fresh pair of kicks for early spring then I’d say look no farther than these icy joints. This silhouette was utilized by CNCPTS for their “Seal” and “Kennedy” collaborations, which were some of the most high profile releases from New Balance to date. These will be making ripples when released this Spring, but will most likely fly under the radar, which is OK with me. Premium New Balance retailers will be stocking these, try checking in with their experience stores in New York and Boston this spring. More images after the jump.
This is a pair that’s sure to snap some necks. Combining the Roshe Run silhouette with it’s hand weaving technique, this would be a gift for any feet. While the rainbow is a little off-putting at first, I kind of like it as I look at it more, but I’d definitely have to see it in person. If it’s not your thing, there’s also a black version of this (images after the jump). It’s available from Atmos on the 26 of January.
J. Crew and New Balance have released images of their latest effort in their longstanding collaboration. Dubbed the “Pebble Blue” 998, this follows New Balance’s traditional style cues, opting for a more conservative look. I’m hoping that in person this shoe will resemble some of the cues from the nonnative x New Balance CM997 “Dune” which dropped this time last year. I’m of the opinion that the 998 is often overlooked in the New Balance 990 family, and 2012 didn’t bring many releases in that style. Hopefully 2012 changes that (and brings back the 997, as I’ve heard it will). As with all 990 series New Balances, comfort and support is the top priority here, and the Abzorb foam present in the sole will cradle you to sleep. Available now from J. Crew for $140
